About Kris

Kris Schultz has served 4 terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives and is now seeking the Ward 9 City Council seat..

Kris has been a dedicated community organizer and activist for over 20 years, with a life-long commitment to social justice and democratic values.

She has worked as a consultant in political campaigns in New Hampshire and throughout the U.S., for candidates running for positions from mayor to president. She also advised AARP, Americans for Healthcare, and Reform Immigration for America.

She has built strong ties with New Hampshire’s communities of faith, from local congregations to statewide organizations. She recently served as the President of the Greater Concord Interfaith Council and is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

She volunteers actively with organizations that address the needs and concerns of new Americans; especially those arriving in Concord as refugees, people facing homelessness, and families grappling with poverty.

She has served as a Supervisor of the Checklist in Concord’s Ward 9 since 2009 registering new voters every election day.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, D.C., and studied at the Department of Sociology at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Kris has lived in Alton Woods in Concord’s Ward 9 with her husband Gene Taylor, their dog Louis “Lou” Brandeis, since 2008. She enjoys strategy board games, cooking big dinners, playing guitar, water fitness, knitting poorly, and writing reviews of pop culture for her friends.
